Very nice video, Thank you for posting
No Iron Range, Iron Mines, taconite plants, Eveleth hockey museum, Soudan underground mine tour, Chisholm mine history and large visitor complex. One of the best trips ever and thrown in a canoe trip in the BWCA.
I live on west side of state. We have over 1200 lakes in and around Fergus Falls, Glendalough & Maplewood state parks.
Thanks for the presentation! I have been in every area that you mentioned. I know you captured some really good spots but I know there seems to be an endless list we could make. You narration was spot on.
Only good road trip is the road getting me out of that horrible place and away from the horrible uptight judgemental rude people.
Why play annoying loud music at the same time as talking? It’s very distracting and makes it hard to listen and hear what is being said
Pretty good vid.
I'm surprised that you did not mention the amazing granite industry here.
Visiting the quarries in Cold Spring. Then, there is the immense excavation
of the granite reserves by Martin Marietta in Waite Park.
It is a stunning vista of colossal earth moving!
…and, in the summer, don't miss watching the Cold Spring Springers play in their iconic stadium.🙂🥎
A North Shore drive starts in Jay Cooke State Park and ends at Grand Portage State Park. It’s not “if you get up that far.” Also try the old Hwy 61 just south of Grand Portage on county road 17 to Mineral Center then the “road not maintained past this point” county road 89 up to the Canadian border on the Pigeon River where the first border crossing bridge used to be.
Great video! I grew up in Hastings and often go back to visit! I also love the North Shore and the River Drive from Hastings to WInona! I almost hopped in my truck and took off! Furthermore, Voyageurs National Park is the best! So beautiful there!
I'm from Minnesota
When we go up north
We really mean go to the cabin or go to the lake it can be actually due west or south but the idea is get away to place you love i mean every other person has a lake place or a cabin in the woods
I'm from the iron range in MN. But now live near the ND border. You have to go up to Giants Ridge. Not only do they have skiing, and miles of cross-country skiing. They have 2 golf courses, a disc golf course that goes up and down the ski hills. They recently put in a Mt bike course, which is very challenging. You can also take the chair lifts up to the top and go basically anywhere you want on bikes.
“Up north” is the BEST!
3:16 New Ulm is home to the long-lived SCHELL brewery. In addition, your auto generated chapter says "New Orleans." I value good travel and hiking content about our state, but these are basic details you have failed to convey.
Living in Minnesota is great. The taxes are so high you can’t afford to buy or do anything. What do they do with all the money. NOTHING!!!!
Wolf Center in Ely is a waste of money!
You mentioned Taylor Falls. There’s nothing fun about that town at all. I grew up there. It’s boring. It’s fun for maybe an hour at Best. We just go down to the river and jump off the cliffs just for something to do. During the winter, it’s really boring.
North shore is my absolute favorite
Minnesota has some beautiful sites, but politicians have ruined our state. High taxes, generous welfare programs, anti law enforcement, pro Somalian immigration, and other crap have turned Minnesota into a shit hole
Enjoy watching your videos Thank you for sharing…
Great list! After living in Park Rapids for 5 years, I would mention some up North towns that we thought were great to visit ! Along with Park Rapids and the surrounding 500 lakes within 10 miles of the town, Walker, Brainerd/Baxter, Alexandria, and Detroit Lakes are all great areas of the up North areas. I would also mention any town with the chain Zorbaz located nearby (the chain is specifically located around vacation destinations in MN) is a great area with lots of lakes, fishing, and the up North feel you want.
