I am looking for information just for overseas travel
Do you have a video on how to go through security when you have a pacemaker? I have been through several times, but they always separate me from my belongings for the "wand" treatment or pat down. I get really nervous that my stuff is just sitting there away from me where I can't really see it. Can I ask them to personally search it instead of having it go through the conveyor belt all alone?
Does anyone have any ideas on how my wife and I can get seats together?
We ordered our flight 6 months in advance, but all that is left are middle seats, meaning we had no choice but to sit in different parts of the plane.
And it's a 14 hour or so flight.I appreciate any suggestions.
I always keep an eye on your account as you always give me good reminders and new info that helps my travels I travelled to New Zealand in January a 24 hour flight with one stop over Your pro tips then were invaluable
How about Vitamins/Minerals? I take a Calcium Supplement – It comes in a '55 Gallon Drum', so to speak, among other supplements… When boarding and International Flight, Do they need to be in my Carryon in their original Containers?
I love when you say you’re a pilot wife. It lets me know you have lots of experience with flying. I appreciate your tips. ❤
Hi Mom, as a new traveller I have too many questions, I can carry my power bank into the cabin?
I fly out of O’Hare in Chicago and my airline apps will also tell me which door to enter when I am dropped off. The door closest to my gate makes travel much less stressful.
I have copper infused compression socks – will that set off the alarm when I walk through the TSA machine?
You taught me not to wear my jeans with rivets. Got pulled aside every time! Love your tips.
Love your videos, Laurie. Just a thought about people who have said mean things: if you were being interviewed, the interviewer would introduce you with "a pilot's wife who's travelled light for over 20 years …" as a way of creating interest in the topic and establishing your credentials. Without a host introducing you, it's perfect that you set the stage for yourself!
Like another person commented, if people can't say something nice or helpful, they might best keep quiet.
Ty sm. Ur videos r really helpful,ty. Can i pack my medicines ( pills only) for 3 mnths ie quite a lot ,in my cabin bag? I am travelling in an international flight. Please reply.
I want to thank you for your videos because they have taught me so much. I will be flying soon to see my son, and I feel so much more confident about the process thanks to you. I did your tip about pretending I am in the TSA line pulling my stuff out, and placing them in boxes. PLEASE DON'T LISTEN TO THE NEGATIVE PEOPLE!!
Thank you so much for this video😊
I haven’t flown in quite a few years. This will be my third flight this year and I have made tons of mistakes. I’m trying to find the perfect carry-on bag which I don’t know if that will ever happen but I found your videos so so helpful thank you. gonna check out more of your videos.
Hello ! I am 66 been married for 46 and we are going on a cruise in 2025 and 2026 any type of advice would be welcome and appreciated
thank you for all the tips
Not sure if it would help, but I'm UK based and disabled. When you book your flights if it's with a travel agent specify that you need passenger assistance at both airports for both journeys. If booked through a site it tends sometimes there is an option to tick for assistance or a phone number to book to request assistance. I was also advised by Cardiff Airport (they were so amazingly helpful with my pre flight questions) to take a copy of my repeat prescriptions with me and ensure that my tablets were in their packaging. Although a small airport, it helped me so much with my anxiety. Thank you Laurie for your guidance as always. Many blessings.
Stating that you are married to a pilot gives you credibility. You know the business from both sides. I certainly do not take it any other way. Anyone who does, has low self esteem.
I got to Indianapolis airport by 6 am. I had scheduled both TSA cares and a wheelchair because I'm an Amputee. I wear a below knee prosthetic. I was flying to Atlanta Georgia for the Amputee Coalition National Conference. No one was there from TSA nor a wheelchair. By the time I got to the security checkpoint, I already knew it was going to be a thorough inspection. Swa bed, patted down and screened. My Carry on and backpack were rummaged through. I wanted to cry because I packed so well and they tore it apart and no one to help me get it back together to make my 7 am flight. I asked for a wheelchair and guy said just walk that way. Terminal clear on the end. We will try to get someone with a wheelchair to meet you. I was dragging everything and barely almost got there when a wheelchair showed up. The airline hostesses were wonderful though. Very helpful. When I went to ATL I was treated so well. At the Amputee Coalition National Conference we all shared horror stories about TSA security checkpoints. I hope this changes for the better. I had just started a travel writing blog. I will write on all experiences.
Hi! When you said you were a Pilot's wife, I was all in! What's the problem?!
Thank you for ALL of your travel tips. We do appreciate your knowledge and travel experience!
Many years ago I was pulled aside because they noticed something unusual. I totally forgot that I had a couple of sequins on my underwear as embellishments! Needless to say, those were definitely on the no fly list from then on 😂
Darn, I just found the most comfy travel pants but they have a zipper for each pockets. Thank you for reminding me about wearing them while going thru security. 🤦🏼♀️😊
I love your tips. They really do help!
Thank you!! I have ptsd and use a cane. I called TSA Cares number to notify them and signed up. I feel much better!!
In few months I will be flying for the first time and I will do it alone, you make me feel so calm and I will probably watch your videos while waiting to board🤣when you say you are pilots wife it makes me even more calm and gives me security!hugs from Croatia!

Love your personal items bag. Info please?
Thank you for your helpful tips. Going to Europe for first time, and I want to be well-educated on things.
Laurie, You are so appreciated! There’re always cruel people. Never be discouraged! Each time I see your videos, I learn something! Thank you💗
love your chats. I can't remember what type of travel SOAP case you said you used. could you please let me know what it is? tku
Thank you for sharing useful information for flying!!
Do you know if you have to bring some sort of authentication of having a joint replacement which always sets off the security system? I’m traveling to Europe in September and I’m not sure how the different airlines or security systems will deal with the fact that I have a hip replacement and I’m sure I’m not the first or will I be the last lol.
Always enjoy your videos. Thank youuu!
I am about to fly for the first time in 20+ years, and doing it alone so I needed this video! Going to put a few years of watching your videos to good use!!
Thank you for this video. I will be traveling for the first time in 15 yrs I’m nervous and needed some tips😊
Laurie, I love your channel. I have followed you for years! I am do grateful…to those complaining, I will just say…"get a life!"
You are fabulous! Thank-you.
So lucky to live near a small international airport that I can get to in 15 minutes, check a bag and get through security in less than an 1/2 hour.
Thank you for your travel tips.
Thank you for all your tips, tricks and advice. I think it’s cool that you’re a pilots wife! The first time I watched one of your videos and you mentioned your husband being a pilot , I just knew you would have great advice etc! (Also my daughter just got her pilots license – and I’m proud of that!).
