“Even after amazon prime day’ i feel called out lol ❤
Iam not stressed if i am missing a warm enough cardigan. When i go to alaska i can buy a tshirt or cardigan
One thing I'm struggling to find is a small, compact umbrella that's also strong & that can withstand a bit of wind. My lightweight umbrellas are very flimsy
I have come to enjoy your videos and the comments as well, thank you Laurie! I spent 6 weeks in Italy, with a small dog (!) carry-on only. I think a large part of carry-on is your attitude, there is no shame in wearing the same thing more than once. If you plan carefully, and I purchased good quality clothes with good fabrics, you can mix and match so that you don't wear the same outfit twice. One mistake I made on another trip was to bring a skirt that I wore only once. (Not big on skirts). But I did have a simple knit dress that I wore to the opera, and another time put a casual top with a belt over it and it looked like separates.
Hello I have a question. How do you handle moving locations mid trip when some of your clothes are clean and some are dirty?
Again, thank you for another great informative video! With my upcoming trip to Istanbul in November, I definitely appreciated this video because by November, the temperatures there are expected to be down in the 50's and 60's and of course there is supposed to be a lot of rain. I bought the raincoat from Amazon that you recommended. Gotta say I love it! Still trying to decide if I will buy an umbrella to take with me or just buy one when I get there.🤔 And I am actually considering buying a pair of the waterproof hiking pants that you recommended. Obviously I am not going hiking in Istanbul, despite it's name being the City of Seven Hills. 😂 It's just I have been to Istanbul before in November and was thinking the waterproof pants would be great on days when there are heavy downpours. Even if it's pouring rain, I still go out to tour the city. I am going to experiment and do a practice run packing a carry-on with just enough clothes and toiletries that I think I will need for 15 days. I am so bad about over packing with "I might need this" items that I am determined not to over pack this trip. Plus, with Turkish Airlines new restrictions on the size and weight of your carry-on, I will have to downsize from my old carry-on bag. Keeping fingers crossed that I don't end up having to take a check-in bag. I don't know how you do International trips with just a carry-on! You are my hero! 👍
Hi Laurie. I am relatively new to your channel and I find your tips very helpful. Like you, I am the Wife of an airline employee and also having worked for an airline myself, I am aware of how difficult it can be to pack when travelling ‘standby’.
I still get it wrong !!!!!
Can you give me some tips on what is acceptable to wear when travelling standby.
Keep the videos coming. They are very helpful.
Weight for carry on
I used your packing advise on my trip to Ireland. I was able to get all of my clothes and toiletries in my carry on. I went a little rouge and added a few items at the last minute when I was panicking that I didn't have enough with me. I never wore those items. Lesson learned. Used packing cubes and stayed organized the entire time. I wish I could have gotten my husband on board with this method but he went with a big suitcase and 2 carry on items! So glad I tried your tips. Thank you Laurie !
With all tje infection spread we learnt in the pandemic, surely ypu know that , piss, poo , spit, sick , animal feaces all accumulate in your shoe soles . Please keep them in a plastic bag or a designated area of your suitcase separate from your clothes. I cant believe shes so dirty.
Prepping for a cross-country trip within 2 months ✈️ , so I’m in the preplanning phase. I’m trying to watch as many videos of yours; I always pick up some great information. Just watched the preventative theft about what to look out for etc. 💆🏻♀️ (a little-much scared to get robbed). But I like what you say have fun, enjoy your trip, etc.
Keep the videos coming—I also like how you reason to your suggestions. Thank you
This was so helpful. Thank you. I’m stressing about an upcoming 3 week trip in Africa, with a few days stop in New York, in February. Trying to pack for both climates, and in a carryon has me sweating bullets 🤦🏻♀️
I can't believe that she is holding up two identical sweaters and trying to figure out which one to bring! I am dying!😂😅❤
First time flying in years although I live in Canada this will be my first time in Banff. Thank you for sharing your tips and explanation of how you choose your outfits . Great video very informative . I always pack too much and this time I’ve challenged myself to pack only carry on . Wish me luck
Hi Laurie. I'm looking to traveling to the UK/France in 2029 (my 60th Birthday). Are there any store that have wide-legged, close to bell bottoms? I need something comfortable to wear on the plane, train, and walking on cobblestones.
I’ve got o e for you! Arca Gear makes a cross body “purse” holds a water bottle and phone and card holder. I got a glass case holder on a carabiner. Also my MyChapie clips on to hold lip stick. Umbrellas could too.
Great video. I always have packing issues and in the end my sister comes to my rescue who travels light like you advised!
So, I just discovered that Amazon sells a fake pregnant belly – intended as a costume, but it's sort of like a strap on pillow case that you're supposed to put a cushion in. It struck me, you could fill it with extra clothes (or airplane snacks!) and wear under your airplane outfit.😃
We are just back from Paris and Stockholm. I used so many of your tips. I love the shocked looks on everyone’s faces when I tell them we packed in a carryon for a 2 week trip and had room for souvenirs we bought! Thanks so much.
You have a kitty!!! What is kitty’s name? I love your dog, but I have a soft spot for cats.
Do you have any recommendations for a neck fan? Going to Australia in January next year. I absolutely love your videos. Thanks
The hotels I stayed in Germany all opened and it was heaven even in the winter
I found your channel about a week ago when searching Avalon River Cruises. I am now hooked on your videos. As someone who thought she could never just use a carry on suitcase I am ready to do it! All your tips are great. I was too late for the Nordstrom sale but looking forward to the one in November! We travel the Danube in May '25 and I am slowly accumulating items that you have recommended. Thanks for all the great advice!
Could you do a video covering how to pack when you’re traveling to a formal event? Like a wedding, military ball, hosted gala type thing? We’re going to a masquerade ball in New Orleans so we’ll be taking lots of big fancy clothes
Do you like the carry one that opens with packing sections on each side. Or do you like the one side opening suitcase
Thank you for all your help…..
I love this idea of packing all in a carry on and have seen other videos that talk about this as well but my question is HOW do you do this with WEIGHT restrictions? I think I could narrow it down and fit it, but FinnAir says you have to have a combined weight of 17.5 lbs with BOTH personal item and carry on. How strict are they on this? I've weighed my personal item with extra shoes and bathroom items and that's 12 lbs alone. HELP! Any thoughts?
Question for the group. I know this may sound silly, but regarding the Level8 carry on luggage, specifically the one linked; has anyone had problems fitting them in crowded overhead bins? I ask because most airlines list their carry on size as 21" x 14" x 9" and the one linked is 21.5" x 14.5" x 9.2". I know the specs are so minor, but I love the look, and the beautiful pink color, that I would hate to spend the money for it and then not be able to use it as a carry on and have to check it because it's barely outside of the 21" x 14" x 9" size. TIA for anyone with experience with this particular suitcase!
